Bridging Voices-Uniendo Voces, LLC provides consulting services on equity, diversity and inclusion with an expertise in language justice. The language justice praxis includes quality interpretation and translation services between English and Spanish in addition to interpreter training for multilingual individuals and customized coaching and consulting around organizational assessment on language access best practices, language access guidelines and more. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Bridging Voices-Uniendo Voces uses an educational, research based approach with a lens of equity to create inclusive, multilingual spaces where all voices are valued.

Bridging Voices-Uniendo Voces, LLC ofrece servicios de consultoría sobre equidad, diversidad e inclusión con una área de especialización en la justicia lingüística. La práctica de la justicia lingüística incluye servicios de interpretación y traducción de calidad entre el inglés y el español, además de la capacitación de intérpretes para personas multilingües y el asesoramiento y la consultoría personalizados en torno a la evaluación organizativa sobre las mejores prácticas de acceso lingüístico, las pautas de acceso lingüístico y más. Con más de 10 años de experiencia en este campo, Bridging Voices-Uniendo Voces utiliza un enfoque educativo y basado en la investigación con una lente de equidad para crear espacios inclusivos y multilingües donde se valoran todas las voces.

Lena Morán-Acereto

Lena Morán-Acereto is a native of Mexico City, Mexico and currently a resident of Ventura County, CA where she lives with her husband and her son. 

Lena holds a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Social Justice and Leadership from Antioch University Santa Barbara, where she did research on the topic of children who are used as interpreters and with her thesis focusing on the creation of an evaluation system of interpretation and translation services in school districts. As an educator, activist and advocate, Lena's expertise has led her to facilitate workshops and trainings across the US and provide consultation to organizations, school districts and government agencies as well as present and speak at conferences throughout the United States.

Lena is a licensed trainer for The Community Interpreter, a program of Cross-Cultural Communications, an interpreter and translator and expert in the field of language justice. 

Lena has experience in program development, implementation and delivery of diversity, equity and inclusion work with educators, families, youth, non profit organizations, government agencies, and more. 

Lena has presented at various conferences, including Facing Race: A National Conference (2016),  CSUCI: Conference for Social Justice in Education (2019), 2nd Annual Social Justice Education Conference (2019). 

In addition to her work with Bridging Voices-Uniendo Voces, Lena is adjunct faculty at Santa Barbara City College, a Senior Consultant at JONES Inclusive as well as a member of the Equity Advisory Roundtable for the California Transportation Commission. 

In 2018, Lena received a Congressional recognition for her work in coordinating and providing language access services during and after the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslide disasters.

                                 

Edward is the Director of Operations at Bridging Voices. With over 15 years of customer service experience, Edward brings his talents and skills in client relations, bilingual customer support, and a "people first" attitude.  Edward is excited to be part of an organization that allows him to make a positive impact in the community. In his free time, Edward enjoys photography, walking his dog and enjoying the music scene.
